Re: Appeal successful! Kouyate red card rescinded
Agree with that 10th and I expect this sort of system to be inplace in the next few years.

Personally I'd like a review system to pre-empt a lot of need for reviews in the first place by making players honest. I'd allow the ref to ask any player what happened in any given situation. The expectation would be that the players respond honestly. If the player is found to be lying to the ref following a post game review of the game and referee audio recordings, then they get a ban and fine.

It may be an unworkable system, but if it worked in changing the players behaviour it would remove most incorrect decisions and annoying behaviour out of the game.

Banjo, I'm pleased you agree. As far as slowing the game up how much time was lost with our players trying to talk to the ref etc.

To be honest, is still think the ref can make the decision once he's reviewed on the video screens within the ground.

What if he doesn't want another look because he knows he got it right?

There is something abut the way he goes about his business that ain't right. And why flash the card so quick. Take a few seconds, think, then do whatever you're going to do. At best he's a terrible ref, at worst he's on an earner.

I completely agree with you.

The argument that is put up against your view is that the beautiful game will be slowed too much, the spectators will become restless and the zip and atmosphere will erode.

I don't buy in to that and believe a video ref should be able to assist the referees in tight decisions whenever required. Dubious goals, dubious penalties and potential dismissals whenever the ref is uncertain. It will lead to a fairer and more enjoyable game and will remove the apparent good fortune in decisions enjoyed by some clubs.

I can accept a shit decision. I cant accept his dismissive tone, the way he turns his back and so fucking arrogant. Like he's a teacher, shoeing kids away.

People go mad when players do that, he rates himself the cunt and has been shown up with what a shit decision it was.

I bet he was fucking GUTTED yesterday.

Re: Appeal successful! Kouyate red card rescinded
I do not see the problem with the ref asking for a second opinion on decisions (like rugby) when something crucial has happened (tight offside decisions when a goal is scored, penalty Inside/outside and tackles where he feels serious foul play has happened)

Saturday has an example, the ref blows for the tackle by Kouyate and instead of going for the card he says to the video ref (not the 4th official) I want to have another look at that (in real time not slow motion). At least then if he still sends him off you would feel he gave it a second look.

That's what it said in the programme on Saturday anyway

T

when it comes to fouls, offsides and throw ins they flag. IF the ref wants further assistance then he will ask his linos. its up to the ref to initiate.

Trev.
No I'm not. Advice or decisions or whatever you want to call it they don't do anything often when it is right in front of them. Thought they are now called assistant referees but they don't assist, that's my point

Do you think that could be more in keeping with presenting a united front and supporting the man they've selected for Euro 2016 rather than being totally objective?

Rugby has the same problem.... Anthony Watson got red carded at the weekend for taking out a full back in the air... he never meant it he got blocked and then lost his balance... absolute accident but the laws are you are fucked... even the ref looked like he was saying sorry to Watson... officialdom gone mental

IF the Sun is to be believed then the game is in real problems as EVERY PL referee agreed it was a sending off at their weekly gathering.

I still think the worst performance against WHU this season was that cunt of a ref Paul Tierney against Everton at home. Don't forget he's from Wigan, which is a full 20 miles away from Goodison Park.

'So what if it undermines refs. Maybe they shouldn't be so quick to get the red out.'

Precisely. Clattenburg didn't even think for a second about it on Saturday. Card was out as quick as humanly possible.

Personally, I think he was looking all game to punish our players for anything he could. The yellows were harsh as well especially when considered to some stuff he let slide from Palace.

If he's really a Man U fan, it's not that hard to put 2+2 together on a weekend we had a 'banker' home win and they had a tricky match and any suspension for one of our key players would affect the cup replay...

Keys is an utter cunt.

If it's wrong, it needs to be fixed. So what if it undermines refs. Maybe they shouldn't be so quick to get the red out.

SICK of us getting raw end of the deal during games
